Bolton-based commercial printer The Print Room is celebrating its 20th anniversary in November 2022.
Established in 2002, founders Garry Taylor and Peter Temple remain at the helm of The Print Room which has seen growth from simple copying and printing, to production and fulfilment of a complete range from stationery and promotional materials to product labelling, newsletter distribution and book printing for local authors.
20 years of business in Bolton after support from The Prince’s Trust & Bolton Council
Peter and Garry both completed printing apprenticeships in Bolton before launching The Print Room with help and mentoring from The Prince’s Trust and local Bolton Council start-up business support.
In 2004, The Print Room received the prestigious Shell LiveWire Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, a youth entrepreneur award scheme with past winners including Innocent Smoothies and BrewDog.
In recent years, the business has grown following investment in new printing presses and finishing technologies and, after starting out in smaller premises nearby, The Print Room is now based at a sizeable unit just off Manchester Road. Team member Isa now takes care of much of the business’s production after completing her own apprenticeship with The Print Room.
Focus on quality leads to business success
The business was founded on Peter and Garry’s belief and dedication to quality print delivered with outstanding customer service – values that still ring true!
The team pays close attention to the quality of the work the team delivers, going the extra mile to ensure print arrives to a high standard, on time for clients including Carr’s Pasties, University of Bolton, Bolton at Home, Seddon, Bolton Wanderers FC, Bolton Council and Warburton’s.
The Print Room Director Peter Temple:
“20 years in business has flown by! We’re really proud to celebrate our anniversary, proving that a commitment to quality, good customer service and friendly, helpful advice is a recipe for success.
Our team’s now working with hundreds of local clients, from large organisations to individuals self-publishing local history books, as well as supporting local charities and sports teams with pro bono print where we can. We’re looking forward to the next 20 years, continuing to provide employment and economic opportunities for our local community.”
Director Garry Taylor adds:
“The invaluable support and mentoring we received from The Prince’s Trust and Bolton Council back in 2002 built a solid foundation for the business which still stands strong today.
As youngsters who’d only recently completed apprenticeships, we had a vision for what we wanted to offer and bags of enthusiasm, but practical help and guidance gave us much-needed enterprise skills and goals that created a sustainable business for decades to come.”
